    24 hours before your appointment, we recommend that you avoid fatty foods. Being well hydrated can have a positive impact of both the blood draw and PRP.

  • No, you do not need a referral to see Dr. Coughlin for orthopaedic injections or a private consultation.

  • You may have some soreness at the injection site due to a pro-inflammatory response.

    This is normal, as your body is harnessing its immune system.

  • Yes, you can drive and walk after your injection.

  • While each injury varies, the general findings suggest PRP will help for at least 1 year.

    Athletic injuries have shown a longevity of 1 year while tendon injuries closer to 2-3 years.

  • In certain cases, a second PRP injection may be recommended 4-6 weeks after the first injection.

    If results start weaning after one year, another round of PRP can be scheduled.

    Please note, the cost of the second PRP injection is not included in the price of the first injection.
